Mortal Engine

Mortal Engine is an inter-media dance performance using movement- and sound-responsive projections to portray an ever-shifting, shimmering world in which the limits of the human body are an illusion. Created by choreographer Gideon Obarzaneks, the artistic director of Chunky Move, an Australian contemporary dance company renowned for dazzling audiences with its use of site-specific installations and interactive sound and light technologies. This video is from a presentation by Obarzaneks for PopTech, where he explains in detail the artistic process and the technology behind his work. We have configured the video to skip the introduction and start at the beginning of the performance, but we invite you to watch the rest of the presentation.
