Surface detail

A myriad of details in an evolving geometric landscape, so fascinatingly beautiful, fractals give us a new appreciation for the natural world and its patterns. Surface detail is a wonderful animation by Tom Beddard (aka subBlue), a UK-based laser physicist turned web developer with an interest in generative graphics.

I have a fascination with the aesthetics of detail and complexity that is the result of simple mathematical or algorithmic processes. For me the creative process is writing my own software and scripts to explore the resulting output in an interactive manner. The best outcomes are often the least expected! — Tom Beddard
