A Rare Pearl

Writer and animated-film director, Janet Perlman is a Jill of all trades. In addition to teaching animation at Harvard, the Rhode Island School of Design and Concordia University, Perlman has worked extensively with the National Film Board of Canada and has written and illustrated children’s books. Conflict resolution, bullying and death are some of the more serious topics she has tackled in her work. In this short, she showcases her quirky sense of humour and several types of traditional animation. Can you name them all?

My Favorite Things That I Love from Janet Perlman on Vimeo.

A visual and musical celebration of beautiful, sweet, sad, noble, adorable, glamourous and abominable things.

Winner of the Special Jury Award, “Best Bad Taste” – Ottawa Animation Festival, 1994
